Hiking with snowshoes ("Ciaspole")

Invented in Canada in ancient times, snow shoes were used by people living in the mountains to gather wood in the forest or to carry hay to the valley. The old "craspe" of wood with rope shoelaces have been replaced by modern, light models that are attached to normal mountain boots and make for an unforgettable holiday in the snow even for the less sporty. Ice climbing

Equipped with ice axe, crampons, helmet and harness for the ever-growing number of lovers of ice climbing, Hotel Relais Orsingher offers the opportunity to tackle some of the beautiful waterfalls of ice in the Dolomites. You can practice this sport (natural continuation of summer rock climbing) with the help of Alpine Guides that you reveal the secrets of piolet traction, the technique that made climbing frozen waterfalls possible. The waterfall at "Val Noana", "Travignolo" and "Monte Vederna" are just some of the routes you can try.

Skating

A few meters from Hotel Relais Orsingher you can spend an afternoon or evening with a a difference at the ice-stage at the Sports Center of Transacqua. The center has changing rooms and a bar. It offers the possibility to rent skates.
